Heat Pump Installation

Efficient, Low-Carbon Heating for Your Home

Heat pumps are a modern, energy-efficient alternative to traditional fossil-fuel heating systems. They take heat from the air or ground and use electricity to provide heating and hot water for your home.

At ProGas Heating & Plumbing Services, we are BPEC-qualified in heat pump systems, providing professional heat pump installation and heating-system expertise.

Heat pumps can be suitable for many different types of UK homes and can provide comfortable, reliable heating while helping to reduce your property’s carbon emissions.

Why Consider a Heat Pump?

✔️ Highly energy efficient – heat pumps can produce several units of heat for each unit of electricity they consume.

✔️ Lower carbon heating – heat pumps are a low-carbon heating technology and can significantly reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

✔️ Works with modern heating systems – heat pumps can work with radiators, underfloor heating and appropriately designed hot-water systems.

✔️ Designed for continuous comfort – unlike a traditional boiler, a heat pump is normally designed to operate at lower flow temperatures for longer periods.

✔️ Future-ready heating – heat pumps are an important part of the UK’s move towards low-carbon heating.

✔️ Potential government financial support – eligible properties may be able to benefit from the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

Government Boiler Upgrade Scheme

The UK Government currently supports eligible heat-pump installations through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Current grant levels include:

£7,500 towards an eligible air-source heat pump.
£7,500 towards an eligible ground-source heat pump.
There is also a £2,500 grant for eligible air-to-air heat pumps.
For eligible properties that are off the gas grid, an increased grant of up to £9,000 is currently available for qualifying air-to-water or ground-source heat pump installations until 31 March 2027, subject to the scheme’s eligibility requirements.

The grant is normally applied for by the installer through Ofgem and is deducted from the customer’s installation cost.

Is My Home Suitable?

Every property is different. Before recommending a heat pump, we can assess your existing heating system and property requirements, including:

Our aim is not simply to install a heat pump, but to design a heating system that is correctly sized and suitable for your home.

* Heat loss and heating demand
* Existing radiators and pipework
* Hot-water requirements
* Insulation and building performance
* Electrical supply
* Available outdoor space
* Suitable heat-pump location
* Existing heating controls
* Whether the property may qualify for government funding

Government grants are subject to eligibility criteria, scheme rules and availability. BPEC qualification does not itself provide MCS certification. Boiler Upgrade Scheme grants require the installation to meet the applicable scheme requirements and be completed through an MCS-certified installer.
